So just recently, my interior lights stay on after the doors are closed, usually on one of the passenger side, either front or back. Doesn't happen consistantly, but often enough to notice. My first thought was something in the door jambs, but after looking it must be something in the light switch. Anyone replce these yet?
My '00 did the exact same thing on the passenger side. I ended up getting so fed up with it that I just pulled the fuse out for my interior lights. ha ha. I know, not really the direction to go but it definitely solved it temporarily. I decided after a month or so to see if I could fix it myself, and I ended up just spraying some wd-40 in the door jambs and latches and it worked fine.
Had the same problem with my 01. You need to take interior panel off to access the door latch mechanism, the two wires will lead you to the switch that is leaving your lights on. Twist the switch out and clean the ball bearing-type end on it with WD-40 or Blaster and you have a very good chance at fixing it. (The ball on the end of the switch gets dirt in it and wont actuate.)
