Picked up NEW black 6.0 crew cab 04' pick-up truck last Friday evening. Dealer had truck shipped in from another dealer out of state. This was a hard truck to find. Picked up truck shortly before dusk and looked truck over. The next day I washed and dried the truck and in the sun light I noticed a ton of swirls and light scratches all over the truck. Took truck to dealer Wednesday for a wash, wax and light buff job. The truck lookes horrible. It looks no better and actually may look worse where the buffer has ran. I express my dissatisfaction with the truck. Dealer said they want to work on the truck for a whole day. I am concerned that the this truck will never look like a new truck should. I got 2nd and 3rd opinions from guys in the business and they all agree that the truck looks terrible in direct light. What would you do? I want to return the truck, but not sure if that is an option. I am going to contact the dealer this weekend and express my disappointment. Any input would be appreciated.
Give Em Hell!!!! Tell them what you think. these scratches are caused by the buffer when they wax them from the factory i was told. i'm not sure how accurate this is.

I had a friend who had a similar situation. He drove the truck back to the dealer, handed them the keys and told them he didn't order a scratched truck , as he walked away suddenly the dealer was more than happy to make things right with him
Stay after the dealer, don't let up on him.Buffing will ruin a paint job if not done right and in my experience, very few people know how to buff a vehicle. The paint guy at my local NAPA store is really good with paint and has had good luck buffing. He still says if paint is sprayed on right,it won't need buffed out.I feel your pain though cause I went through a new truck paint night mare when I bought a new 1994 Lightning.
Look at my response in the other places you posted this....
the Maverick paint repair is a national franchise I think and did a SUPER job...
(i don't work for them, just used them )
It's black swirl marks are almost impossible to keep from showing up. Black vehicles in general are the easiest to show up anything. I will never have another one. They do have a product specifically made for swirls I think form meguirs - just do a search. I hate to say it but, it will look bad the next week anyway- black is black.
Ghost is right. Black shows EVERYTHING, it absorbs all light, so if there is a scratch, dent, ding, or whatever that can reflect and refract the light it will. Black is the worst color to spray, and probably the worst to own. I like my red, white or blue colors.
