89 BII IAT sensor

Has anyone ever changed one. My Haynes manual says it is in the filter box
buy it looks to me that it is on the intake. The only place I could buy one was at advance it is a GP Sorensen are they any good? Also any tips on changing
it would be helpful
Thanks

Correct, the IAT is bolted into the upper intake manifold.
I have never changed one, they don't seem to fail that often.
I would consider GP Sorensen near the bottom of the line, but I can't really say I've had trouble with their parts. You might call Ford and see how much more it is from the dealer. Considering how reliable the Ford IAT's/ECT's seem to be, if they aren't much more expensive, it might be worth and extra $10.
