My 03 Excursion Diesel 2X4 has been in the shop 6 or 7 times for vehicle vibration, steering wheel, floor board and seats vibrate. I've exhausted recourses at ford so now I'm off to Pirelli ?
Chris.... welcome and join the club. My 03 has been into the shop now 5 times for a total of 45 days for the same vibration you describe. It's on it's 3rd rear end, second drive shaft, and they just put a new trans extension housing on it. Nothing is solving it. We are going through buy back now on this one and hopefully getting a new one. Mine is definately a driveline vibration and not tires. Seems to me to be a 2wd diesel truck issue. I've driven 3 4x4 diesels and none of them have a single vibration. I drove a new 05 2wd and it does the same thing as mine. If we get a new one I might have to order a 4x4. Good luck on your trouble.
Gentleman, welcome to the club. I have had this problem and I was able to make it 80% better. My 2003 Excursion was also in the shop multiple times, received a new rear end, 3 new driveshafts, new U-Joints. Then the dealer changed the angle of the rear-end by inserting 4 degree shims under the leaf springs. This took all my vibrations out except for a liveable vibration at 80 to 90 MPH. I personally think it should have been 3 degree shims but anyway it worked.
