drivetrain swap
have an 86 f-150 with an inline 6 and the 4 speed manual tranny, am thinking about doing a complete drivetrain swap. Would like to go to a 302 with an automatic tranny. My question is: where do you recommend i get a crate 302, and what tranny is the correct application? i would rather have new parts if possible. also, what gears will i need in the rearend?

3.50's gear will be about right, but that depends on what you use the truck for mostly. And i would try to get a C6 tranny. And if you are looking for a reman. motor your local NAPA is a good place to start.
