I have a 2000 F350 CC 4x4 7.3. Yesterday the truck just died while driving I stopped turned it off and it restarted it did this several times sometimes it would die for a second and then come back to life on it's own. I replaced them Cam sensor and it seemed to be fine for the rest of the day then last night I went to start it and nothing, the wait to start, water in fuel, service engine soon all stayed on, but I heard a clicking noise. I crawled under the truck and the noise was coming from the trans. The clicking finally stopped and the dash lights went out and it started it did this several different times.
Any Idea's???????????
I am leaving today for a hunting trip to Montana luckily I am not driving. I thought I would ask you guys for help so when I return in 2 weeks I can try to have it fixed and I would have a place to start looking at. Thank you for any help. I guess this is a good way not to let my wife drive my truck while I am gone!!!! Yes!!! Thanks Again
Sounds to me like some wires are chafing through the insulation somewhere and grounding out. Exactly where is wide open for discussion, as the possibilities are many. Or poor battery/ground/power supply connection somewhere.
