Who owns one and what brand? I am looking for one, not hunting, just fun. I own a H&K .40 caliber compact as a hand gun. Just curious what you guys have in the way of shotguns. My mom has a 12 gauge Remington she won for a dollar in a raffle way back before i was born, pre 1973.
Inherited a Mossberg 410, bolt action, and that's pretty fun to play with. Not a real serious weapon, but low maitenance, and cheap. I've got a Browning Light Twelve too, but that's not operational right now.
Mossberg 500, my dad handed down 2 real old Remingtons, a .12 guage semi-auto, and a bolt action .20. My favorite is my Mossberg. I got the combo deal with it, rifled slug and feild barrels. I think I payed like $350 for it. Shoots great, accurate, and like Josh said, Mossberg's are priced well.
Got me a couple of Mossberg 500's, a SPAS 12, all 12ga. The Mossbergs are inexpensive, and lots of accessories for 'em. The Ithaca SPAS12 is VERY intimidating but the thing weighs a bloody ton.
I have a Charles Daly 12ga semi auto that I love, and a New England 410 break open that is a nice light skeet gun. I also have an old Remington 870 that gives me lots of problems, but when it is working it is a good gun. The Charles Daly is by far one of my favorite long guns I have ever owned, fun to shoot and can be very accurate The best part is it only cost me about $400, which is a lot less than I have spent on some of my other guns. Just my 2 cents.
i have a browning gold hunter 3 1/2 inch mag. i have a 28" barrel for duck and goose hunting and a 24" for upland bird. i also have a stevens 16 gauge side by side that was my great grandfathers, i dont shoot that one very much
I too have a Mossberg 12 gauge, pump action. I got it for my birthday. It used to be my grandpas. I have only went shooting with it twice but, I love it. It is accurate and fun to shoot. Shortly after I got it my friend let me shot his 12 gauge shotgun. I don't remeber the brand but it was a pile. I couldn't hit a thing with it and it kicked like a mule. It surely made me appreciate mine. Good luck finding one!
You want to have some fun get a thomson contender. By buddy has one fun!! Its a single shot hand gun that you can change the barrels to different calibers. He usally has a huge caliber rifle barrel on it. I love shooting that thing it has some kick!! But personally I like a gun with alot of power. If you want a gun that is really cheap to buy and shoot get a ak 47 there pretty fun. You can buy a nice AK for 400 bucks for a local pawn shop. Ammo is really cheap for a AK.
Shotguns...
One Beautiful - Baretta Silver Snipe, 12ga over/under
One Functional - Remington 870, 12 ga pump
One Toy - Crossman ???, CO2 - propriatary shells
If you want one just for fun, I'd suggest a 20ga Mossberg. They're cheap and reliable. The 20 is quieter and has less kick than the 12. However, if you even think you might hunt ducks etc., go with the 12ga. As in many things, there's no replacement for displacement.

The 835 I believe will handle 3-1/2s and steel shot. (I think).
I've had a Mossberg 500 for 24 years. Great handleing firearm and a good pointer for me. Out of all the pumps I've tried, I still like the ole 500. Mine came with a factory poly choke also. I also have a pre 64 Model 12, but I don't shoot it very much.
Some day, I'll pick up a Rem. 1100 also, because it is a good reliable auto.
