... Please mr. jeepgod, explain to me why superlift is "crap".
Because like many of the mo's that drive Jeeps, he thinks his stock rubicon is god's gift to the earth and if it doesn't work well on his heep than it must suck. Jeep is the bestest ever off road vehicle even in stock trim and can climb over anything in two wheel drive. If it's a Jeep thing, I think I will stick with my Ford.
hey guys.. these are MY opions.. i had a superlift on a toyota truck i had years ago.. and yes it was a good product to lift the truck, but it wasnt a top performer, compared to other lifts out there, unlike most of you guys, i use my vehicles off road, and i want something that will enhance its performance... i will also not buy something without looking at it, especially something that is going to lift my $40k truck that i drive everyday... i have also seen superlift's, pro-comp's, skyjacker, tera-flex, and many other lifts for these new jeeps, and some work great, and some just lift it.. ie. superlift, procomp.... if thats your thing, great.. but if you get a spring kit for it that is not designed to enhance its off road ability, then more than likely those are stiff springs making it ride like crap.. if you want looks with a good ride.. go with lift blocks... its all up to YOU.. not me what it is you buy... and if you think im still speaking out my ***.. then good for you...
when you get a spring kit.. you want to know the springs rate... the higher the rate the stiffer it will be.. think those 12" springs ride nice? not most of them..
i base my opions on years of installing, helping to install, and watching these vehicles perform for well over 10 years.. and most kits are the same across the board.. for example skyjackers... seen them on a few different platforms.. even ran one on my old jeep... they have all been top knotch.. performed well.. road well... so i would be willing to bet they make a great SD lift.....
However, your opinion is not supported by market data or factual analysis. I am not whacking you, but you should have maybe said" I have not had good luck with Skyjacker". Your first post sounds kind of condemning. I personally would not use them on any of the vehicles that I own but I would not say they're junk. Pro-comp on the other hand, has loads of data supporting their crapatude.
Many of us here also own off-road vehicles, and we know what works on them. However we also have taken the time to research what works on the superduties, unlike you. What works for one vehicle doesn't always work for another.
I have a 2004 F250 CC LB PSD. I have a 4" ProComp lift that I'm generally happy with. Listen, any lift is going to change the ride, Period. Springs are heavier duty and will ride stiffer. In regards to sag, Come on? Springs are engineered to weight ratio and will give to a point (engineered). Physics won't allow sag beyond that.
One thing I will say is don't get your 35" tires as part of a ProComp package, The tread is way too aggressive and you'll be singing, or should I say howling, down the road. Get some all-terrain tires.
Since we're on the topic of lifts...I've got an off the wall question. I want to put 20" wheels on my 04 F250 FX4. I see that BFG makes a 20" All Terrain 285/55R20 32.5" and also a 325/60R20 35.5". What size lift if any might I need to get things to fit. Offset info could also be helpful.
like i stated.. its my opinion.. and i dont see too many stated facts in any posts on this thread.. all i see is... i have this lift.. and i love it... well good for you guys.. but what you like.. may not be what someone else likes.. therefore its an opion... throw some of these factoids out...
and yes.. i base my opion on what i have experience with.. and yes.. it wasnt on a superduty... but like i said.. i have seen the same manufacturer.. on different vehicles.. and they all performed pretty much the same.. but according to you.. this said manufacturer.. will make a good lift for one vehicle.. and not another..??????
and you are right.. i havent finished my research.. infact i am still doing it.. even off of this thread... unlike most of you.. i take what everyone says with a grain of salt.. and look into it.. and try to see why that person feels that way... i mean.. there are people out there that ride on 12+" lift springs.. that are stiff as poodle poop... i couldnt do that.. but they can.. ever ask why?
and yes.. you can get lift springs that work great.. ride awesome.. do whatever you want.. but those are usually custom made to your vehicle and your specs... most of these manufactures do not do that.. so most lifted springs will be stiffer than stock.. giving you a harsher ride... and not as much sag over the years.. especially with a heavy desiel...

ahh.. jeepgod these boyz are just rubbin ya the wrong way to see if they can get you to blow up..so far your doing pretty good.. i owned 3 differnt lifted jeeps in the last 5 years and may be gettin another one soon so i know how the compainies relate.. and skyjacker contiues to forge the future introducing new products before everyone else.. like the coil kit for SDs, well everyone else is scared to break the mold.. skyjacker is not, for that i have to agree they are probably the best lift company out there.... HOWEVER.. this is a Superduty forum and these guys know superduties.. and there right in the views from experiance and from learning from others... I HAD a skyjacker lift kit on my truck and it was as well built as any kit ive ever seen but IT was the definition of rough ride and springs that would not budge, SUPERLIFT on the other hand has tried to meet demand of the people and sells a "select" series leaf spring that has 10 leafs(compared to skyjackers 5 leafs)... there thinner.. and allow more flex and movement, for a much improved ride on and off road.. Superlift is the only mainstream company doing this right now, so I with all these guys will tell you they make the best "mainstream" lift for SDs on the market right now.. many smaller more specialized compaines like EDGE, use up to 12 leafs in there packs to get the same or even better results, but there smaller compaines so the prices are higher.... bottom line is, i belive you know your stuff.. but these guys do know a thing or two about Superduties........ you'll have fun on this forum!

Wait, I said I have a pro comp lift and rides like crappola!!!! Oh man, I've had too much to drink tonight. I have a card game goin' on (20+ guys for texas hold 'em) and a keg. So I'm out (of the game) already and the keg still has beer so I'm kinda housed right now. I have to say, I see more drama on this site then one would see on a day time soap opera, and the uhh, STUFF, cracks me up. blah blah blah. I need another beer. Good thing this shindig is held at my house or I'd be in trouble...
