Hi I have a what i think is a 429 Block# C9VEB Heads# C9VEA Thx guys Slick

i had the same problem the only way i found out was the crank 4u 429 2u 460

I'll offer the info. that I've got which is:

1969-70 429/460 block
1968-1972 429/460 heads 2.09" intake valve 1.65" exhaust valve
2.18" x 1.87" intake port
1.99" x 1.30" exhaust port

The blocks for the 460-429 are the same, I have numerous 460 engines and 2 429 engines, the only thing that I have found that indicates a 429 from a 460 is the pistons. They are stamped 429. I have a D0VE 429 and the block has 460 on the front in what they call a mirrowed image. Your c9ve casting indicates that it is a 69 model casting. Hope this might help. Also one of the other responses was correct about the crank castings, but you would have to have accsees to a book to look them up.

As to the cranks, 66f14evr is correct. There's two crank numbers that are 4u and if I remember from my book correctly, 4 that are 2u casting numbers.

wow these engines are getting confusing i have 2 sets of pistons both have 429 casting# one set has the 4 small dished cut out for the valves and the other set look like a volcano
