well i made the plunge and ordered the 5 inch hangers instead of three. i couldnt resist it, i want some 38's. so now that the front end is squared away, i need some suggestions for the back again. i know we talked about the shackle flip and i dont think that the stock shackles are goin to get the rear end up with the front. I have looked at sky manufactorings website and saw that they had shackle flips that raised it rearend up to 5 inchs. i already have an add a leaf in the rear, would these hanger from sky be enough? i kinda want to stay away from blocks as much as i can but if its the last option, then i will use them. any suggestions are appreciated.

Alright Mr Fancy pants. Now you'll be regretting not buying 12" hangers. That's too cool . . . bigger IS better regardless of what they say. I'm now fighting for every inch of lift I can legally stuff on my truck. But now I'm off on a rant . . . back to the subject at hand.
My suggestion is this. Buy the Sky hangers and once the 5" hangers arrive install it all and see if the truck sits lever. If it does not make some new shackles that are just longer. If you have tools and some basic skills you can do this on your own. If not you can have a shop fab them for you . . . I'd guess they'd charge $70-$100 to do this. You could also use the front hangers for your shackle flip (buy a set of front hangers for the rear springs and use them in the back). This will give you about 6" of lift in the back. The cool thing is the shackle flip is pretty versatile so you can adjust the amount of lift easily based on what brackets you use, where you put them, and what shackles you use with them.
Don't remember if you said or not . . . what year is your truck?
I'm drunk so if any of this isn't clear or doesn't make sense don't be bashful. Tell me I'm retarded and I'll try to explain better.
my truck is a 03, f250, extended cab short bed, 3 inch leveling kit, add a leaf in rear, 315's. aight correct me if im wrong, you are saying that i could also order the same front hangers for the rear of the truck and use them instead of the shackle flip? do you think that those sky shackle flips will enough, the reason i ask is because they are cheaper then the hangers. if they arent enough and i was to run a block how big a block would i need, 2" or 3"? thanks for all your help, hopefully i aint asking to many questions.

oh ya skipped_link: how wide are your 38's? do they rub at all and if so on what? how wide are your wheels also?
No Josh, the hangers are very inexpensive. I'm talking about the stock hangers which will look like mine, pictured below. You can get them new from a Ford parts center for around $50 a pair or if you're super cheap like me pull them off a truck at a wrecking yard for about $10. The only way to know for sure how much you'll need to lift the back is to measure it out. Compare the pics of my shackle flip, to Fishy's, to the position of your stock hangers and you'll see there are 3 easy heights to choose from in the shackle flip. Then as I said you can always raise it some more using custom shackles.
No, you're not asking too maky questions. I'll let you know if you do.
if you want as much as you can get...get a piece of channel (real thick siht) and weld/bolt it to the bottom of your frame just below where you want to mount your new hangers. then just mount your hangers on the dropped frame piece! do this to your front and back and you COULD acquire 6" easy. all it costs is some time
i am going to do this to my truck one of these days when i grow some *****!
That was my original plan but I just didn't end up having any need to do it. I had 4.5" springs and with the 4" from the shackle flip I'm sitting perfect right now. I will increase it a little when I lose my blocks though.
FWIW this is how Pro's rear (and front for that matter) suspension is setup and it's killer. Probably one of the smartest designs I've ever seen.
aight im catchin on now. if you dont mind could you give me some more details about measuring out the rear to figure what shackle i could need, also the positioning and last but not least the 3 easy heights? thanks alot.

I am running the 38-15-16.5 SSR Swampers on a 16.5x10" wheel, when I turn hard in either direction the tires rub the front springs, but thats the only rubbing I've noticed, If I were to twist it up It would probably hit the front bumper but I haven't had that happen yet,
You just keep telling yourself that and I'll just wave and smile while I pass you with your frame and drivetrain hung up in the mud
I need to have Ivan (who's 'puter kung fu is WAY better than mine) pare down some video to a postable level I have of me going through a massive tank trap. Let me put it this way, the roof of my cab is below the level of the ground to either side (!). Anyways, everybody else tries and just comes to an abrupt halt, has to be yanked out, while I breeze right through on my turn. Sure, thats partly due to the fact that I'm a bad ***** with big tires and stupid horsepower, but if I didn't have my big lift to get up and outta that stuff I would have gotten stuck just like everybody else.
