New tire wheel combo

Hello All,
I would like to change my stock tire & wheel combo on my '04 F250 SD
to a 33 12.50 tire on 16x8 wheels.
Would I have any problems doing this? (other than speedo calibration)
The combo I'm thinking of is a set of superswamper trxus on
mickey thompson classic wheels.
thanks for any info.

For a 12.50" wide tire, 10" wide wheels may be a better choice. Just get 4.5" backspacing. Check out the posts under "Wanting bigger wheels". Chuck641 has pics of his truck with 35" tires and no lift although he did move his front bumper forward 1". With your 33" tires, you probably won't need to do that.

Are you looking at the TrXus MT radials or the TrXus STS?

You shouldn't have any trouble with the 33x12.5's. That's what I put on my 04 F250 and there has been no rubbing or anything.

Thanks for the info.

10 inch wheels Hmmm. Have to look into that option as that opens up a lot more
choices.
Im looking at the TrxUs STS radials a friend has the MT's and he likes them
but I like the look of the STS

Interco recommends an 8.5 to 10 inch wide rim for either the Trxus MT or STS in a 33 x 12.50 size. I found that a 33 inch tire brought my speedo to a correct speed when I compared it using either a GPS or mile markers. I had no clearance issues, but I have a F-350 with plow package and AR Baja 16 x 10 wheels.

Thanks Ronin007

I ordered the tires and 16x10 wheels, should have them early next week
My 250 also has the plow package so it looks like everything will be okay.
I'll let you all know how things go.
Thanks for your help.

I should clarify that I do not wheel my truck as some people have posted rubbing issues with a 33 x 12.50 tire while off-roading. I have a Range Rover as my wheeler so that I don't have to mess with taking off my plow frame and giving my nice SD trail pin-striping.

For some reason, Ford has changed the studs on the SuperDuty trucks. Most 99-01 models have a 14mm x 2.0 stud. Most 03-newer models have the 14mm x 1.5 stud. 2002 models can have either. It is best to check your stud size before ordering lug nuts or package deals.

From ntwonline. Doesn't it figure you'd have to buy new wheels to up to 12.5?
