?????????????? This is the greatest and strongest nation on the face of the planet and all you can say is that? Please move there and do us all a favor! I love my country, you could not pay me enough to leave here. Do not get me wrong, I like Canada, it is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen and the people there are awesome,there is nothing wrong with moving there if you want, but to say that America is going in the wrong direction is anti-patriotic. With a good college degree you have the best chance of being succesfull here than in any other country. Again, I am not bashing Canada, just people that despise America, especially the ones that live here!

If you just said at the border that you were coming up to visit your friend, and then laid low up there and got paid in cash, I doubt that anyone would ask you to leave.

If you were coming up to hunt, I believe it is possible to legally bring long guns across the border, but that'll involve some paperwork.

There's some biotech firms around Sidney, on southern Vancouver Island in B.C. Probably the nicest climate of anywhere in Canada (less rain than Washington state too).

Technically, a nation is a race of people while a country is defined by political borders. Most people use the terms interchangeably, and they are most certainly not talking about a master race. To be sure, this nitpicking is mainly about belittling someone you disagree with, not a lack of understanding as to what was asserted.

Why would you live someplace if you didn't feel it was the best place for you, by the way? What is wrong with thinking that where you live is the best place to live? If anyone wanted to leave, far be it from me to stop them.

How is calling someone unpartiotic infringing on their rights? You had no problem insinuating that the previous poster was a ****, I notice. Did you "censor" them? Did you infringe on their rights, too, or is that person's world not a free country because you disagree with them politically? That's really what drove the whole thing from the start, which is exactly what I suggested earlier in the thread.

It isn't censorship if someone prohibits political discussion on here, either. Only governments can shut people up and have it be censorship. That's what is forbidden under our Constitution.

 

nation implies a certain degree of cultural, religious and racial homogenity... sameness. that is not the case in america or anywhere really. america has a very innovative constitution that protects religious differences and individual rights, in writing.

the fascist reference was a little heavy. but i'm not the one running a concentration camp on a little island i'm still pretending doesn't exist. get real. you have to qualify a remark like "we're number one" when you resort to those kinds of tactics.

 

Back to the topic at hand.....

If bio-tech is your field you're somewhat limited as to where you can go, basically only the major cities are going to have bio-tech opportunities. You've probably got the best chance in the Toronto area, there are tons of hospitals and two very large pharmaceutical firms. Novapharm or Novopharm is the name of one and I think they might even be US based. Glaxo-Welcome is the other and they also have a pretty big operation in Toronto too. Check with some of the local universities with med-schools, research firms and universities usually like to clump together in the same cities.

Actually, universities might not be a bad option to look into. You could probably land a job as some sort of research assistant fairly easily. I don't know exactly what your career goals are or what kind of background/experience you have. Universities here are also quite willing to hire people from abroad provided you have the right qualifications.

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has a list of occupations that are exempt from the normal immigration requirements of the US/Canada and Mexico. If you're job falls into one of the categories basically all you need is a letter from your prospective employer and proof that you can actually do the job you're being hired for (usually this is just a copy of your college degree).

 

Sorry for not using a word that satisfied you. Going a little to far comparing me to Hilter(wont let me spell it right), and yes it is unpatriotic to bash America if you live there.
