Shifter
We replaced the shifter on my 87 2.9 4x2 and when you tighten it down it wont freakin shift. It just seems to fit to tight. I dont know if this is uncommon or what but its pretty annoying. Anyways is this common and what can we do about it?

Shifter experience
Mine wouldn't shift one day (Acually wouldn't go in first gear - felt real springy). I pulled the tower and looked in. The last guy to replace the shifter left the little rubber tip that fell off the shifter end in with the rails and it was in the way of the 1-2 gear rail.
