Does any own or know a decent amount of info on a mp4 player. I use MusicMatch Jukebox on my compoter, and have about 850 cd's ripped on to it. The problem is it is starting to take up a lot of space (around 40 Gbs). I have heard that the mp4 players reduce stoage by more than 80% of an mp3. That would be very cool to get it into smaller files so i can get several thousand on it.
sounds cool, but i have never heard of the mp "4" format. it must be new.
It is pretty new i guess, it is mostly made for video. With an mp4 player you can store 5 full length movies on a player that wiln your shirt pocket.
But i don't want to use it for video i want it for music. Hopefully something for the audio end of it will come soon or the equivilence just for audio.
You're not going to find anything that will compress and mp3 80% and end up with something that doesn't sound like trash. You could probably buy another hard drive for a quarter of what you'll pay for an mp4 player.
I thought Mp4 or Mpeg4 was just video. Hard to believe you could compress an Mp3 any more then it is unless you take it down to a lower quality like 8000 htz. mono.
