i have a meyer e-47 plow on one of my fords it worked last year got it out this year motor runs, all selenoids are working and dump valve is working. wont go up or angle . any ideas?
Fluid level O.K.? If you have changed the fluid it may be airbound? Most likely if it sat for a long time and EVERTHING else works theres air in the system. Or a bad pump?
Your solenoids may be working but are the valves under the solenoids ok??? How do you know if it lowers if it won't raise? Does the motor run when you try to angle and when you try to raise? Check the couplers and make sure they are clean and connected together all the way. With maybe a little more info i have a repair guide for that pump i can refer to for you.
if someone gets inside and powers it up and with a bar i lift it and it stays up. and won't go down till i power it down. motor is running fluid level is full but was empty when i got it out. it has a leak at one of the couplers. how do i blead the air out?. also selenoids are workin but how do i know if valve is working also?
The manual diagnostic works in a sequential order. Answer the question yes or no and it gives a different step for each. Question one for no up or angle is: Does the motor operate? You said yes, then is the fluid full, yes, Does the plow angle left instead of raising? NO. does it angle at all, NO. Next is. Is there pressure(or flow) at the filter port? Yes or no????? Filter port is to the right of the drain plug, there are two filters one below and one to the right. Check the one to the right for flow/pressure and let me know so we can continue to the next step.
Next step asks if filters are clogged. There are two, the one you just checked and one in the lower hole below the drain plug. If clogged clean with kerosene or replace. If answer to clogged filters is no. next check to see if motor is turning the proper direction(proper rotation for motor is indicated by and arrow on top of the pump), if yes check for clogged strainer (is oil getting to the pump. The strainer is on the resevoir pump inlet. If no motor needs to be replaced.
If no oil to the pump clean the strainer and flush system with kerosene and refill. If oil is getting to pump it says pump is bad.
That's about the end i think, need anything further let me know.
filters are clear motor is turning in corect direction. haven't had time to do anymore. this weekend hopefully. thanks will let you know how i make out.
