No brakes
Help! This is the first time I've got into the brakes on a vehicle with ABS. It's a '92' F-150, 4 w/d, manual, 4.9 L six.Was driving around running errands, with no indication of any brake trouble. About the 5th or 6th time I stopped, I shut of the ignition as I had on all previous stops. When I returned about 5 minutes later, I started it up, then applied brakes before releasing the parking brake and the pedal went to the floor. I live in an area (Pacific Coast) known for rusty vehicles and I've lost brake lines before, so guessed that was the problem. Surprise ! no loss of fluid ! ABS light is lit but am told that it shouldn't affect the basic brakes. the pedal goes to the floor every time and will not pump up except when the engine is shut down and then only a little. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks

if the pedal is hitting the flor it might be the plunger in the master cylinder. this happened to me on an older car i had. the pedal would slowley sink to the floor..one day it just dropped. the plunger in the master cylinder had droped through. i would check that first.
