I am having an OD issue with my 82 F150 it has an AOD trans. I just replaced the trans due to the very same issue. I replaced it with a used transmission that I have used in the past. It will not up**** into OD and acts as it gets to shift and then can't quite make it up there. Feels like it is stuck in between gears. Lower gears work just fine. I found some technical service notices and no which one I want to look at but don't know where to find the actual bullentin so that I can read it.
Any help in find the bullentins or a resolution to my issue would be MUCH appreciated since I have spent over 4 full days trying to resolve the very same issue I seem to have with both transmission.
Does the speed top out at 55 and go past that on full throtel only and goes back to 55 when not at full throtel? If so then you got some issues with a solenoid. Don't know which one since I took an 86 I had with the described issue to a mechanich and got it fixed by replacing a solenoid.
To be honest I do not know because I have not pushed it that high of a speed at this time. I will do some more checking this weekend.
Do you happen to have any idea where the selonoid you speak of is located? I don't think the 82 has a selonoid but it would be worth checking out for sure.
