Can someone tell me where I can find the technical bulletins that are put out by the manufactErs on the net? I located one that I think might help me but I only have # and topic.
My issue is with 1982 F150 5.0 2wl-drive AOD transmission. I have and issue with the Trans not shifting into OD. The truck sounds like and feels like it is trying to use AOD but does not quite make it there. I just replaced the Trans that was in it because of this issue. I replaced it with the same Trans out of a 1981 F100 2wl 5.0. Upon first drive, about 6 miles, it shifts, as it should with no issues. On return trip there seem to be a "pop" and here I now am back at square one with the same issue but another trans. I think the bulletin I am trying to find will help me resolve the issue I hope.
Anyone that can either help me locate a way to find the service bulletins online and/or suggestions for what to do would be greatly appreciated.
I admit I am relatively inexperienced in the Ford products since I have always driven GM products. However, according to the Haynes manual, the transmission information placed on the sunvisor about the correct gear to drive the o/d transmission, the owners manual, and the trans code from the metal tag that is placed on the trans itself, and finally the plate upon the tailgate that states" Automatic Overdrive", I do believe you are incorrect with your statement. Even within other helpful areas I have found online, based upon the number of pan bolts, this transmission is a AOD tranmission.
Aside from this information, would you have any suggestions as to where to locate the service bullitens online or what my problem may be with this transmission?
OD's didn't come till 83, but the C6 did as well as the C4 and C5's, But try clicking the link that says recalls/tsb's at the top of the page on the right side.
