engine ID help???
ok,i finally found the id tag on my truck,i own a 72 f-100 ,and it doesnt have the original engine,so the id tag says302 C 72 13
2-A K293S
OH,I FOUND IT UNDER THE COIL BOLT
CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THIS ENGINE

engine ID
I have recoverd the ID tag of my engine and i want to know wut it says so on the first ,lline it reads 302 C 72 13 on the second line it reads 2-A k293S ,i have been told by my dad many times"its a 289,not a 302,is this true?i must know so that i am not buying the wrong parts for my truck

The 289 was stopped being produced in 1968. (I have one of the last ones in my Mustang)
302 = 302
C stands for plant built at code = Cleveland Ohio
72 stands for model year = 72
13 stands for change level = 12 changes to that engine
2 = year of production = 72
A = Month = January
K293 = Ford's engine code number
