Rear suspension differences between regular Ranger and EDGE
I trying to find out the differences in the rear suspension between a 2001 Ford Ranger 2wd and a 2wd 2001 Ford Ranger EDGE ext cab 4.0L. The reason I need this information is because I'm trying to lower the rear of my EDGE and I'm trying to find a rear flip kit. Belltech,DJM say they don't make anything for the EDGE, but I know they are not very different. They really are not trying to help. I'm thinking a regular 2001 Ranger rear flip kit would work.

Edge vehicles have 4x4 suspension. Front has torsion bars instead of 4x2 coils and the rear suspension is exactly like 4x4, with large spacer blocks above the axle.

So. What do you think about lssoing the Front Torsion bars to get a little drop in the Front. Will that cause premature wear and or a too soft ride?
Also, Will taking out the spacer blocks cause bottoming out?
Another question. Does flipping the spring pack to the bottom of the axle really change the ride quality? As they say flip the axle.

Why go to the trouble? The reason most prople by it is for the trim package and the 4x4 stance in on the 4x2. It would be much cheaper and safer to buy a regular ranger.
