Did you take your belts off to see if it stopped? If it's the oil being too thick, you would think it would stop after the oil thinned out.

If it's 70 degrees it ain't the oil. I would guess it's time to change to a lighter oil when it gets down around freezing.

Give us more info. Does it happen all the time? Is it louder at any time? Take you belts off and see if it goes away. If it does, determinewhich belt made the noise.

If it only lasted for a few seconds it was probably a loose belt.

Are you running a high volume oil pump? I still think it's the bypass.

Sounds like the alternator belt is loose, and the battery is a little low after all this time. First startup, the belt shreeks for a few seconds.

Not to worry. I know of no "shreek" sound that goes away in a few seconds that could be bearing/piston/cam/valvetrain related.

Describe it a little more/better and we'll see what you got.

artk.
