i have heard of a 2004 f150 fx400 before.. but always figured they meant fx4... but today on the freeway one passed me... it was a red crew cab- looked lifted a little bit with 33s or so but had HUGE black letters on the side near the side steps that said FX400 . what is this model and are the add-ons done by ford or another aftermarket place? if nobody has seen one before like i had until now dont bother looking it up cuz i couldnt find ANYTHING on them.
thanks
Its probably just some siticker they bought. The other day I saw a black 04 F-150 Lariat, and somebody placed a red '97-'03 "Sport" sticker under the badge. It looked... great......
They have them at Alexander Ford in Yuma, AZ....right now they have a red one and before I saw a white one, yellow one, and a black one. I think it is this ford dealer that is doing it...I dont think its nationwide. They are outrageous. I have never really looked one over up close but I have seen the sticker $ and I drive by the dealer everyday. They have a leveling kit, knobbier looking tires, after-market wheels, step bars and a fx400 sticker. I believe that is it......sticker $42,000. $1,000 bucks in upgrades and 8,000 price hike!

I am sure Banshee is right. A lot of dealers will try to create some buzz over pimped up versions of factory trucks. This is basically similar to a conversion van make over, but on a much smaller scale. Our local dealer actual sends trucks out for conversion and the package is similar to this FX400 but it also has artzy fartzy paint work on it. If you like the way it looks, just copy it and do it yourself, you'd likely save thousands!
Since Roll-a-Long is a factory authorized manufacturer, FX400's are available thru almost any Ford dealer.
Its based on a FX4, however fenders are replaced, dash and gagues are modified, it has a leveling kit (2inch spring spacers), 33 inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claws and matching MT 18 inch wheels, also all seats are replaced.
You can get an FX400 with any of the options available on the FX4
I looked and the web page that Q posted does anyone know what type of push bar/ bumper gaurde that is on these trucks and i wonder if it comes in chrome? Will it fit a 04 4x4 screw or is it truck specific?
For anyone who might have been interested I just gave them a call about the pushbar on there truck.. That is a fabricated product that has been modified and will only fit there bumper.
I agree with Banshee. Buy your own fx4, spend a few dollars on mods and get a sign shop to make you that humungusly ugly fx400 sticker for the doors and your set. Plus you saved a few bucks in the process.
Did i mention I hate that fx400 sticker! lol
No one is copying anything. Those fenders on the ford are made by Hanneman Fiberglass I believe ( www.hannemannfiberglass.com) and are used mostly on highspeed desert trucks...prerunners and race trucks. Normally they are used to be able to fit larger tires with minimal lift to keep a lower center of gravity. I have no idea why roll-a-long uses them except for looks.
