Banks vs. Predator
i have trouble believing these tuners are all that different. they all control fuel and spark and i'd be surprised if any of the updated software doesn't have some type of transmission control. i have the banks six gun with exhaust on my 2005 psd and i think it rocks. i raced a dakota r/t on the highway and had a slight edge from 30-80. i was on level 3 and the dakota is mildly modded with a flash, exhaust, and throttle body. i currently own that r/t also until it sells.
hopefully this info will help someone looking into tuners for the first time. i'd love to see some dynos of the different programmers out. i've seen one for the banks and it was fairly impressive. i will also dyno my truck if needed. if anyone can share their personal dyno info...not the i knew someone who...it would be greatly appreciated.
keep up the good vibes guys.

>Your right!! There are too many variables. What gear was he in, what ratio rear, what size tires, condition of track, pulling experience ect... I will gladly put my system against any Predator system in a pull with equal conditions with full confidence. Yea it probably cost a little more but I won't sacrifice performance for only a couple hundred bucks. I mean honestly we all know this, or at least you should, If you want to play with the big boys, be prepare to spend some money. That's just the name of the game. Come on fella's we all know that. -- Johan<o

>Your totally right on the variables of truck pulls. Mine pulls different every pull. I only have a six gun w/ loader and exhaust on my truck, and it is pretty well the least modified truck out there, but I'm still getting 3rd and 4th place over alot of dodges and chevy's cause I have one thing they don't: Crew Cab Long Bed and BFG at's. I don't ever run my hitch near as high as they do cause I don't want to break something. I even have a manual in my truck which is a definate disadvantage with a stock clutch. 3rd gear (marked 2nd) is all I can take off in, the hopped up dodges (which I am not a dodge fan but some of these trucks are very impressive and well built) are taking off in 4th and 5th gears because of the clutch they have. But besides that point, a few guys around here that have 7.3L use the predator and I think it is impressive for what it is rated. After seeing them perform on a 7.3L and a 6.0L I think they work better on a 7.3L but I could be totally wrong too, its just my opinion. Sorry to get off subject, just trying to state a point.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I can change the tune on my truck using the SCMT in about 5 minutes and this is probably the same kind of time frame for the Predator. But most of the time I have it set to one level and only change it if I'm towing.
The fuel mileage for me doesn't change that much between the Hi Performance tune and the Economy tune for my kind of driving so there's not that much incentive to change it from one tune or the other as I'm driving around. Because the driveability is so good in the HP tune I just leave it there most of the time.
Not trying to be argumentative, but rather just curious as to why being able to switch on the fly with one of these fueling boxes is such a good thing to have?
"they all control fuel and spark"
Spark, spark!!! I guess you don't understand the basic principle of a diesel.
And what were you saying? You won that guys truck or something? Like in those stupid fake racing movies?
whatever.........
And, I think too many people just like to talk good about what product they spent money on and aren't free from the bias of that. Some of you like the one that started this post seems to not be biased.
Please don't state that your system works better just cause it's what you have.
