I was having hi idle problems, disconnected the IAC and it idled OK. Replaced the IAC, it goes to hi idle, drops to normal, then goes back to hi idle. The manifold is clean, just wonderin if there is something at the butterfly that needs to be checked. Worst case is to take it back and get another if nothing else works out.
Any ideas?

Could be that the new IAC is bad out of the box. Also, make sure you don't have any air leaks around the new IAC gasket, then check for air leaks around the rest of the motor. I was having the same problem and I think I fixed it with a new O2 sensor after replacing the IAC but don't remember for sure.
