Back in the day Ive seen them hold up to 600+ hp 427 side oilers on the strip.
Torque ~ 575 maybe.
Stock out of the box was around 500/500 for the dual quad setup that was "rated for insurance reasons" at 425/480.
Tasca Ford used to run a 428 Mustang and had minimal tranny problems, they just couldnt get a decent bite.

He ain't cheap, but as old as these are, a used one could be trouble. I had trouble with one in 1981, so there are worn out ones out there.

I myself am running a toploader (off a small block though), and i know a guy how is drag racing with a mostly stock (racing clutch and u-joints) toploader and he is runnign a 750hp Roush nascar engine and he runs it very very hard and he's been using it for at least 3 season of costant racing.
