Mating BBF FE to a toploader?
I know this has been covered in other places, but without an illustration I don't really understand the issue. I keep reading the truck bell is deeper than the car bell, and the BB toploader is shorter than the smallblock toploader. At the end of the day, when you bolt it all together- how can you tell if you have a problem?

I thought the SB had a longer input than the BB model.
IMO, if you can bolt it up and it has sufficient engagement at the pilot, and the clutch disk splines allow the disk to properly align with the pressure plate, you should be OK.
Mock it up without the block plate and flywheel. Use washers or shims to hold the bell out the same distance as the block plate. Without the flywheel, you will be able to see the pilot-input shaft marriage and determine if it will last or if it's doomed.
Or, buy a high dollar Quick Time bell, or search for a stocker.
