Pikachu, i think i know where you are talking about...i live right down the road from them to the south. will try and run by there tomorrow and see if they are open. thanks a bunch
Hi, Nobody has mentioned what cummins uses-Valvoline Blue 2000. I think that's what its called. Been useing it forever, just figure that if the big trucks can go a million miles before over haul then the oil they use is the best. I have a local cummings dealer where I live and have been using it in my VW diesels for years without any problems and will now use it in my PSD I just got. You hear a lot of things, I just go with a proven product.
Most big trucks don't use Cummins Premium Blue 2000. In fact I am a truck owner operater and I can count on my single hand the number of truckers and truck owners I have met through the years that use it. Yes, some do, but the majority of oil running the road in big trucks is Shell Rotella-T, Mobil Delvac 1300, and Chevron Delo-400. Now, I did test Valvoline Premium Blue 2000 for about three oil changes in my Cummins N14 a couple years back and even though it gave good oil analysis results, the oil analysis results I recieved from Chevron Delo400 were better. Btw, I have 1,011,000 miles on my N14. I am getting the head gaskets replaced this week. The mechanic was amazed at the lack of cylinder wear I had. There was minimal piston ring ridge at the top of the cylinders and no scoring of the cylinders what-so-ever. The Chevron Delo 400 definately performed it's duties in this department, this motor is no where near needing an overhaul.
I use Mytic Super Heavy duty motor oil myself. It has some addtives that are usually only found in expensive syntethetics. Not to mention the fact that it has a lot of ZDDP in it which is good for your cam. I have used lucas before and it is good stuff but its so darned expnsive. Mystick oil anyalisis have been aweseome as well. Great oil and cheap.
The reason they aren't API certified, is becaused they FAILED the certification!!! Another thing "Scamsoil People" will tell you is they don't care about the vehicle manufacturer's warranty, because Scamsoil will warranty it if there is a problem. Well, why do you think Scamsoil specifically mentions this in their warranty? There is also a lot of "fine print" in their warranty, like for the warranty to be valid, you have to request it in writing first, and a lot of other unbelieveable stuff!!! Why would anybody risk having to go through that, when they can pay a lot less for many oils which are API certified???
Here is part of the Scamsoil warranty "fine print":
e. In cases where the OEM warranty is still in effect and that warranty coverage is denied based on the use of an AMSOIL lubricant, the customer shall immediately notify AMSOIL INC. and provide a written copy of the OEM warranty denial.
If you happen to be a lawyer, check out the entire warranty from the Scamsoil website:
I like the Shell Rotella 5W40 Synthetic in my PSD Ford and the oil analysis report came back great also. My question is, would you consider using this oil in a older vehicle such as a Classic Volvo Sports Car / Dark Green in color?

Would this Classic Volvo Sports Car happen to be a P1800, 1800E, or 1800ES??

From back label of of Rotella bottle: "WARNING: Do not use this product in Dark Green cars, trucks, busses, tractors, boats, snowmobiles, lawn mowers, weed whackers, leaf blowers, motorcycles, chain saws, generators, pumps, construction equipment, bicycles, skateboards or anything else Dark Green in color which is not included herein. SEVERE DAMAGE may result! Shell assumes no liability for improper use of this product."

What if my skateboard has a PSD engine? Could I at least change the color?
Thanks for posting these - the first one is a particularly good read - very enlightening!
You are welcome!!!
The reason I feel so strongly against Scamsoil, and any other MLM company, is because I have had friends and family members have to file for bankruptsy due to falling for these company's brainwashing propaganda!!!!
The lack of API certification is enough of a reason not to use the Scamsoil products, but you throw the MLM garbage on top of it, and you should
stay as far away from this company as you can!!!
You must know me, to know I have a Volvo 1800E?????????
You helped me a long time ago on my first car, a shiny little red VW. If this doesnt do it, try looking at your email addresses for slpj. I'm sure that this will do it...anyhow, hope that everyone is doing fine.

I'm doing fine, working a good bit. I bought a 7.3L PSD in 2002. I wanted to get one before the change. I really like it. It doesn't seem to notice these Virginia/West Virginia mountains much. It has been a while since I visited this great wealth of information site. I'm sure that you are helping everyone here like you have helped me before.
Take Care Bob and tell the Family Hi for Me!
Hey Everybody, listen to this man Bob Ayers, he can fix anything,(From electronics in your home to the guts of your engine)
