Atlernator Swap Question

I have a 1967 ford truck with 1967 wiring. I am installing a 1994 351W engine that has been converted to carb. I want to use the serpentine belt system. My question is will it be ok to use a 1994 alternator with the 67 wiring? A 67 alternator had a larger pulley on it and was around 60 amps. The 94 will have a much smaller pulley and have more amps. Having a smaller pulley will make the Alternator spin faster. Anyone have any ideas in this area? I don't want to burn up my truck. And I know that March makes all kinds of conversion kits but I would like to avoid spending over $600 for a kit. Thanks.

It should work fine if you get it hooked up right. It will only put out what the old truck system demands.

Lightbulb Alternator Swap

Yes, this new alternator should work fine- just don't forget that the '67 had an external voltage regulator, the '94 has an internal voltage regulator. You''ll only be using the internal one right? You can eliminate the external voltage regulator.
