Been reading past posts and finding complaints on factory shocks. My '01 2wd has brand new firestone steel-tex 265's run at recomended tire pressure and I think it wanders a bit over bumps. The factory shocks have 30K. I don't plan on replacing the tires any time soon so which shock should I buy with towing in mind? Iwould like to improve the ride quality a bit.
Some have pulled the stock shocks off after 100 miles....
Anything is better than the marginal stock soccer mom shocks !!!
I waited until a deal came along and then I got the Rancho 9000 adjustables...
Love em... and believe it or not, they've helped my mpg !!!! (not much.. but ....)
I was able to soften their setting and increase my air pressure to get the same ride but less rolling resistance...

right now (before 10-31) Rancho has an offer for the 4 shocks and a free in cab controller....
Many have taken advantage of the offer like this one: www.samsoffroad.com/samsoffroadsto/index.html
had the whole deal for $289 with free shipping and the $139 controller for free....

I'm having Bilstein's put on my 2000 Excursion 4WD today. I got them at eshocks.com for $259 shipped for all 4 shocks. I think the factories are still on my X.
