Ordering Timeline Question
When I place my order with the dealer what is the chain of events that happens.
Do the enter it in a computer where it gets placed in a que, then it is accepted and given a DORA, then vin, then build date etc....
I placed my order on 10/4 and STILL do not have a DORA or ORDER number. My rep keeps saying don't worry, you are and have been in the system. This dealer has been good to me and I to them (orderd 6 vehicles from them since 1994) and I want to believe them however my previous fleet rep is somewhere else in the company and he has referred me to this new guy.
On other sites I am reading of people getting DORA and VIN after 2 weeks!!!! My dealer has a priority of 15 which is good but to say the least I am concearned.
Please advise.

The DORA shouldn't be an issue at all, either its been input in the system or not. Getting the VIN might take a while, but I would think you should have the DORA by now so you can double check that he ordered everything. I'd tell him he has 24 hours to get you a print out or pull the deal. I had my DORA a couple of days after my order, had the dealer fax it on purpose for date purpose.

I just learned from my rep that I have some sort of confirmation in my fax at home. apparently the order number is different. no vin as of yet. (4 weeks almost now). He claims that alot of people have been bumped, but not me, I think he is blowing smoke.
Will check this sheet out when I get home.

Sunroof & 18" wheels are holdup

I ordered myF350 on 8/26/04 A sunroof was on the sheet,told him to cancel sunroof & order it.They said it would be in in 6-8 weeks.9/25/04 he called & gave me the vin#. I called VOPC that day.They gave me a build date the week of 9/25 and delivery date the week of 10/11. Truck came in week on 10/14, 6 week wait. I was happy. It did come in with the sunroof I did'nt order, but now I'm glad I have it. It's cool. I LOVE the truck...awesome.

I have my dealers status report and my 2 trucks are on it shows Recpt date of 8/31 scheduled/status date 10/25 , description on one is Produced, the other says REL FR PLT?? the one produced has Dealer ETA week of 11/1, the one with REL FR PLT shows 11/04. Produced truck is w33 REL is W32.
