Big problem here. I start my f250 with 460 and a holley carb 4180 and it is tuff to start but it does, but a few seconds later, no gas to carb and it stalls. If i jumper the positive and the negative on the starter relay, I can hear gas going to carb and it will stay runnung. what could be the problem here, I have put in a new fuel pump and the carb is brand new. Any help would be much appreciated.. James
no replaced that and still the same, replaced starter relay, fuel cutoff relay, and bypassed the iertia switch. sorry so long to reply but spend every moment trying to fix this thing and np success. right now I am checking and replacing wiring.
What vehicle is this? F250 with 460 and Holley carb should have a mechanical pump right? Have you added a electric pump in the past? Or do you have a EFI truck that has been swapped over to carb? I'm confused...
Its an 86. But I have solved that problem, you were right guys, my oil pressure switch wiring had been resting on the block. Now the carb is messing with me. Just bought it, and while I was trying to fix last proble, I may have, I DID, mess with idle mixture screws, and damn are they hard to get to. I have them both backed out 2 turns, does anyone know haw far I should have them backed out? and any help adjusting it would be great..Holley 4180
