Onan 5500 Gen Problem

First night at the desert the generator worked great. Second night it started great and then died instantly. I went out side to check, when I tryed starting it gas would shoot out the carb into the air filter and even out the exhaust. has anyone had this issue. 120 hours on gen. thanks in advance.

I haven't, but I only have 85 hours on mine. It is a 5.5 kW Onan Marquis.

Let us know what it turns out to be just in case I face the same problem in another 15 or 20 hours.

It's the same as mine. I will taking it in on Wednesday of this week to Weekend Warrior. I'll keep you posted on what they tell me.

Thanks, I've got the '04 FS3000.

I did have problems with my pump station, first time I went to use it, it didn't work.

I called WW and they sent me a replacement pump because I was doing the repair myself because I didn't want to take it in and deal with the down time plus the haul from my storage location in Ramona.

Took quite a while to finally get credited for the old part after returning it to WW.

Love the trailer though. I'm going to haul it to either Big Bear or Borrego Springs this weekend, not sure which. I'll keep an eye on the weather.

darylhunter, I've got a call from Weekend Warrior. As it turns out it was a minor issue. It apprently had a carb needle had gotten stuck open. This of course caused the flooding. He stated that draining the fuel bowl is not enough when storing for long periods. He recommended a fuel stablizer. Even though it was my fault they still covered it under warranty. Hope this helps.
