Ok quick question.
I have always had manual tranny cars/trucks. Right now I have a 5 speed Focus and a 4 speed 83 F250. I was wondering if the new 04 or 05 F150 was available in a manual tranny(OK so I'm trying to save a buck here but I do perfer a manual over an automatic). A salesman(I think he was new) told me that the only way I could get a manual tranny was to get an 04 Herritage Ed work truck (stripped down regular cab no power windows/locks no AC no options can be added and only comes with a 6cil). After reading a little I realized that the Herritage Ed is just an 04 with the 03 body on it and can have all 04 or 03 options.?? Am I correct on the Herritage Ed?
Can someone let me know about the manual tranny?
04 has no manual option. The 05 does is supposed to sometime, I think with the 4.2 and 4.6. So far the build option at Ford doesn't have an option for a manual.
Kingfish is correct. Local Ford dealership owner told me the 04 body style does NOT come in a manual. I also heard the 05 would have it. The Heritage model 04 is a 03 body style build in 04. Still a 03 truck just bran new.
I went out to the Ford web site and looked at the brochure. It states the 4.2V6 will be available with the 5 speed manual on 4x2 regular cab only. Late availability, meaning some time, maybe this year.
I was hoping sence the F250 had it as an option so would the F150, at least in the 5.4L that is optional in the 250. Unfortunatly a 4x2 is out of the question for me, already got a "72 4x2 don't need another .
On a personal note I do not like how truck manufacturers are leaving out manual trannies from there line-up. I first saw this happen in the 2002 Toyota 4Runner(friend had to search high and low for a left over 01 manual. Found one over 400 miles away). I know the auto is easier to deal with in a truck but some of still like to have the option.
