take your leaf springs in the back and flip them over to the top of the axle.

Best way to lower 3" is with springs. I replaced mine in the driveway in about 3 hours - you'll also need to replace the shocks - cost: less than $200.
Flipping the springs will drop you about 4" (flip kit) but you'll need to knoch the frame.

why would you need to notch the frame for a 2 in drop? people at RPS are running 4&5 in rear drops without that.

they do sell flip kits to give a 3 inch rear drop

First of all when you do a flip kit, you are putting the leaf springs under the axle so your rear end is closer to the frame not on top of the axle. When I lowered my ranger I did a 5/7 drop which was doing a flip kit and a 1 inch lowering block so a flip kit probly would drop you a good 4 to 6 inches alone. so you are better off doing lowering leaf shackles and you wont need to c notch your frame. I didnt and Im 7 in the rear. I do have a rough ride though. But you wont.
