I have a 95 Ranger 4L that has been humming and overheating. After replacing a few other parts, I discovered it was my thermostat. I purchased that little part, but I'm having trouble finding where it goes.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. The hose mounts to a fitting; you remove that fitting to access the thermostat. Make sure to note the orientation on the old thermostat and install the new one the same way. Also, place the air bleed hole on top.
