Where's the ECTS?
First post here and haven't seen anything about this anywhere on the site. Had my truck scanned due to rough idle at stop and the Engine Coolant Tempature Sensor came up as bad. Ordered a new one and replaced what I though was the sensor. Turned out to be the sending unit for the dash gauge. Put the original back in, the new one didn't work, go figure. Anyways, trying to figure out where the sensor is. Am stationed in Germany so I don't have a real Ford dealer to go to and the Haynes book says that "some trucks may have 2 sensors" but doesn't tell you where the 2nd one is. The one I did find is on the front driver's side of the intake near the top radiator hose. Can't find the the other one for the life of me. Already replaced the IAC valve, PCV valve, and the plugs based off of what I read here regarding the rough idle. COP's were in good shape. Truck is a 1998 F-150 w/5.4L and 96,000. Thanks for any and all help.
