My '03 6.0L does not have a block heater cord. Does anyone know if the actual heater is already installed and the cord can be added? If so a part # would be helpful if anyone has it. My Ford Dealer is not very knowledgeable or helpful and I'll really like a heater this winter.

Many Thanks..
Look closely for the cord. It is tucked up behind the grill on the left lower side as you are facing it.(near the tow hook) It is tied back with a cable tie that you will have to cut to get it loose so that you can fish it thru the front of the grill. It also has a plastic cap on the prongs so it may not look like a plug when you first see it.
Not sure about an 03. But just found out that my new 05 on order comes with the block heater installed but NO cord. It's an OPTION!! Called dealer to order one and install it before I take delivery, $35 xtra...
Time to crawl under the beast.
Passinger side of the block. above the starter. in place of one of the soft plugs.
There should be a "D" shaped female socket with two prongs in the soft plug hole.
Could possibly have a dust cover over it. If not orginally ordered.
Holly friggin aye. I found where it plugs into the block then traced the cord to the front. I can't beleive how well hidden that sucker was. Thanks for all the help, I was convinced the cord wasn't there.
No kidding,
I remember mine, same thing.
Found it on the block, traced the wire up over the cross member, out into the fender well, back into the engine compartment, up somewhere behind the battery, disappears into a wire harnes, mysteriously reappears in the bumper by the fog light and tow hook.
Glad you found it. Took me the better half of 20 minutes.
