Overhead computer

Does anyone know if you can replace the overhead computer in an '01 F250 Lariot? I never knew how much i actually looked up at that thing until it went out. Thanks in advance for any info.

sure it needs replacing and not just a fuse or lamp ????

check for power at the unit and if you need one, consider your local ford parts at either the dealer or at your local "salvage" yard... bet there's a locator service that can find one...

wouldn't think many are damaged in fender benders ! and bet the same one is used in about 100 ford/lincoln/mercury/jaguar/vovlo models....

Definately check all your fuses and so forth, but if it is the overhead, you can buy just about every original ford part at www.fordpartsnetwork.com just fill in the vehicle info and search under collision. If you don't like messing around with all those menu's then it might be easier just to e-mail them.

Thanks for the replies. There is/was power to it as of yesterday, but it has been getting dimmer and dimmer for the pst few months. One idea from here was to clean the plastic cover on it but that wasn't the problem, would have been too easy!

Fixed It!!!!!!!!!!!!

took it apart and found 3 of the diodes w/620 on the that wre lose on one end broke out the iron and fixed them now it works fine so far. Thanks for the info.
