I Have a 1989 Ford F150 with an L6 engine w/ 4 spd tranny and would like to swap with a more powerful V8 engine and a 5 spd tranny.
does anyone have a recommendation and idea of how hard this would be + approximate cost?
Secondly, your easiest swap that will net the most would be to go with a 351w. It will have the same bell housing pattern as your I6. Cost depends on how much you want to spend... Of course you will need the motor, then if you want the 5-speed, that's more and so on. You can put whatever you want in there. Price is relative to how much you want to do and what parts you use. Also keep in mind any emission laws prior to doing any swaps. There are plenty of folk who do these and then can't do anything with them
