howling noise on deceleration

howling noise on deceleration

any ideas on what this would be, when you let off the gas and let the truck slow down, you get a howling noise. is that from the transmission, the rearend, etc. if anyone has any ideas on this please let me know thanks.

howling noise on deceleration

Check U-joints first, if it has a steady bearing on the driveshaft check that too. Otherwise it's likely pinion bearings in the rearend.
