I'm very happy to say that I now have Sirius in my 150, and I'm very glad I made the switch. It's now patently obvious why it costs more to subscribe. You get what you pay for. XM was OK for the first year I had it. I hope Sirius doesn't go the same way. I'll start to think it's me and not them...
i have sirius in my truck and my wife has xm. after listening to both I will stay with my sirius. everytime i scrolled through the channels on xm i have never heard of 3/4 of the artists see for yourself these sites display what each is currently playing on all channels

sorry i dont have enough posts to put the links here
I have XM for NASCAR, and rumour around XM411 (the uber-fan XM site) is the IRL will soon be on XM. MLB will be cool to listen to the Cubs and not have to deal with the static of listening to WGN in Indianapolis.
I got the serius just because of the NHL coverage. They are evidently back in business, and will have a season this year.
I agree that both systems are better than commercial radio.
If it's worth anything, I'll stick with my XM just for the sake of sanity. Sirius cuts out so much that it was driving me crazy. This was when I was living in AZ where it's flat and there's nothing that would've interrupted the signal. I live in the back woods of PA now and my XM NEVER cuts out. Sirius needs to look into getting terrestial antenna's.... Just more of my .02.
We have both demo'd in our store. Personally Ive used Sirius since it's inception. I just prefer the programming better.
XM is now 12.95/month. The previous 9.95 was a big selling point for them, now it seems as though they have millions of subscribers they'll up the rate.
If your running any Delphi portable products, you cannot just cut the plugs off of the docking station power cables to hardwire them, they are 6VOLT, not 12. We typically use add-on power sockets wired behind the dash and plug in the OE delphi 12 to 6 volt plug.
I believe beginning next year, Sirius will have NASCAR also. Being the revenue generating machine that NASCAR is, I cannot see why they wouldn't want to be on both services.
It really is a matter of personal taste. We've had customers switch from one service to the other, both ways, because they prefer the programming better.
I will say that XM, as far as home based units go, has better products. For car use, they're even. Aftermarket manufacturers used to support only one service, now many of them support both. Judging the services on subscriber base is useless. XM was launched sooner, and with GM giving away the products and service on new vehicles, XM was bound to have more subscribers. FORD and D-C are teamed with Sirius, and since they dont own part of the companies building the products, like GM does, it's taking them a little longer to offer the services standard equipment.
Both services require satellite line of sight, which brings up another big difference : the satellites of the 2 services. XM's do the typical equator orbit, requiring south line of sight and requiring repeaters in larger cities with many tall buildings. Sirius's 3 satellites do a funky figure 8 style orbit over the US, allowing more line of site possiblities. If we park a vehicle with XM on the north side of our shop, the XM will drop out, Sirius will not. Both services require an outside antenna for home use.
Any which way, you cannot go wrong with either service. If you live in a rural area, like I do, radio stations are far between and often theres dead spots. Driving even small distances means constant searching for channels, and good luck finding something you actually LIKE. With sat radio, I can drive as far as I need and never switch stations. I listen to what I LIKE, not what's available.
Funny little note, we do radio advertising, live phoners usually. The radio stations have asked us kindly NOT to promote the sat radio. Seems they don't like us promoting their competition on their station.
