You took it to the dealer with the EGR unplugged? Think about that for a minute. What do you expect them to tell you? There are federal laws about tampering with an emissions device. Do you expect the dealer to say, "Cool. Leave it unplugged!". That would be sticking out their proverbial necks.

to tell u the truth they wanted to know if it was a way to get better performance out of the truck. i told them what i was told about it. They said it was a good idea. the only reason why they wanted it plugged in was because i brought it in for a surging idle and they wanted to see if it was making it any worse. anyway do u think having it plugged in with no throttle plate is hurting anything. i forgot to plug it in before i brought it in it wasnt on purpose.

I don't think it hurts anything. I am just astounded that the dealer would say it was a good idea. I would document the time, place and person. Wow!

Why? Doesn't common sense tell you information like that is given in confidence?

Because when push comes to shove, the customer will loose in this case...the dealership will say "never said that" and the customer changed the truck.. Warranty gone...

Nope, we sure don't, except maybe that one time. But I still think it was her fault....

I guess it is just you and I that ever made a mistake by the looks of it. It must be tough to live in a world of imperfection when you are perfect. Ever notice how the accusation of someone else's imperfections is augmented by the accuser's poor judgement that is measured by their choice in marriage?
