I could be mistaken but I've heard that its best sometimes not to flush it out because it works more efficiently with the particles in there, please correct me if I am wrong because I have wondered about that.
You need to check the fluid level. If that's ok, ordinarily I'd suggest looking at the pan filter, because a low flowing filter, i.e. dirty, will cause this. Did they change the filter, or just flush the tranny?
most of the time after what you had done if the fluid was pretty bad, the tranny will slip and soon go out. the cause is when they do that it wash's off the tarnish on the clutch's. was the fluid burn't when you had it done? seen this happin many time's. i have worked in a trans shop for year's.so i saw this alot. sorry to tell you this.
Probably not, but you should double check anyways. How's the fluid level?
I've never heard of not flushing it 'cause you need the particles. Must be an auto thing...
ColonyPark is giving you good advice. Do that first before you go any further. And, if the filter wasn't changed, I'd be suspicious of it. Start cheap & easy, & work up.
Several tranny shops around here will not flush the trannys any more. Apparently it dislodges to much debri witch clogs sensors, vavle bodies, etc in the newer electronic trannys. Recommendations have been to change the fluid & filter, then change just the fluid in about 10-15 k miles. I know it seems like double the cost, but it kinda makes sense. Besides, a $75 fluid change is lot cheaper than replacing all the electronic gizmos. A few friends have already had to do this in their full size Fords & Dodges after a tranny flush. JMO
We flush them here with no problems. I do however suggest to my customers, to service regularly! If it's never been done at high mileage, we may suggest dropping the pan and filter. The suggestion on checking the filter is a good one, because if it does it cold not hot it's a flow issue with cold fluid. If it was going to slip, it would do it hot. As far as the particle issue, that happens on a trans thats on its way out, the fluid does sometimes carry enough particles to get the clutches to engage when changed or flushed they slip. But in that case it was going out anyway and changing or flushing was too late.
