Who made the "toploader" 4 spd that was in the late 60's/early 70's Ford muscle cars that had big blocks? For example, the 69 Mach 1 with the 428 SCJ engine.......THANKS!!
Scott
Well what I'm asking is, what is the 4 speed transmission in a late 60's/early 70's ford muscle car with a big block? When searching I've found a lot of info on the T10 4spd, is this what was in there? I know the T5 came in stangs with small blocks.

T10's were used in some Ford applications, but, I've always heard of big block versions of the toploader. The T10 was far more common in GM apps than Ford.
Have a look here: http://www.5speeds.com/toploader.html
Toploader. You may still be able to buy a super T10 but most are for Chev's as I recall.
The website I listed above will tell you all about how he brings a toploader up to spec. He's around $1000 or better, but that super T10 is probably more if you can find one to fit a Ford. ( I know nothing about that, haven't done any google searches for T-10's, but I would urge you to just go the the toploader site and forget the T10)
I had a T10 back in 79-80 for my '65 Mustang. The darn thing popped out of 2nd and no one could tell me how to fix it or where to get parts. I sold it for a loss and got a toploader. Same problem, but they fixed that one.
Things may have changed, but if your running Ford power, just go with the toploader.
