Need some help from you experts. I have a real odd ball. A 76 F150 with an F13******* vin and a 6150 gvw. It's a 4X2 with a 390 4 bl, 435 new process 4-spd, has 8 lugs, dana 61 rear, and dual piston disk calipers. I have a hell of time telling the guy behind the parts counter what to look for. As far as I know, the truck is all original. I've had it since 82. My current problem is finding the right replacement hoses for the front brakes, namely, identifying the serial number. I don't know how to tell if it is "to ser #A75,000" or "from ser#A75,000". Any help would be appriciated. Also if you have information on the background of my truck I'd be greatful.
post your vin #, or check on dennin's site he's got some decoding stuff. Where are you getting your hoses from? A good...yeah hard to find...parts guy should be able to tell you from the given info of.. 76 150 4x2 dual piston caliper. You sure someone didn't swap axles and spindles?
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if the vin was the number that was ment. As I said in the first post, this truck is a true oddball. The vin is F13MLC38829. I've had it since 82 and I bought it from the original owner who wasn't even sure what size engine it had. I'm pretty sure it's all original minus the things I've done over the years. The F13 is not a typo nor am I having trouble reading it from both door tags or the title. I have never been able to match it from any manual (including the factory shop manuals). As for the rear, the axle code is 22J. From what I can tell that's a Dana 61 with 3:07. Another odd thing is that I have never seen the type of side molding I have on any other truck or in any catalog. Guess I'll have to figure out how to post a picture somewhere.
