Gang,
I have a 1989 F250 460 EFI that let go on me destoying the original E7TE heads. I need to know what differences there are between the E6TE series (which I have located a set of as a possible replacement) and the E7TE series which came on my original motor?
The heads you want are E3TEs. They are for 93 and newer 460s. They have a bigger intake valves, larger ports, and a slightly smaller combustion chamber. They flow alot better and will give you just a little more compression. They will bolt on, and every thing will bolt on to them. It should make a diffrence power wise and still work with a stock ECM.

If you plan to stay EFI, you'll have to run EFI heads, as they have different shaped intake openings and I believe a different intake angle on them. I don't think year makes a difference as far as them working correctly, but the '93 and newer heads are most desirable. Again, just make sure they're EFI heads!

Thanks everyone for your replies. I cancelled my order for a set of replacement E7TE's and ordered a rebuilt set of F3TE's. Is there Anything else I should be aware of during this swap?
Don't use the old head bolts(these probably won't come with your new heads)I would definitely invest in a nice new set....Otherwise, dig in and good luck!
