block identification D9TE or E9TE

I have a 460EFI I pulled from my f350 and I know it was changed. I think it is supposed to read E9TE but it looks like B9TE. The crank is a 3YA and the heads are E9TE-6090BD. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The block is probably D9TE, 1979 and up blocks are all the same, so are the cranks. The heads should be E7TE, I was unawhere there were E9TE Heads out there for the 460.

You are right about the heads. I am confused about the block because it looks like D9TE, but the D has lines in it like someone tryed to change it to an E. What changes took place in 85 and 88 that make a gasket set so expensive for the truck? Any insight is appreciated.

The only thing different would be the intake gaskets, and they are very close. The head gaskets, oil pan, timing cover, water pump are the same from 1968-1997. I ordered a gasket kit off of ebay for $40 and just bought an intake set at Napa for $32.
