I had the fuel lines open to rebuild the injector return lines, started at first, then died hard. would do that a couple of times, now my battery is dead... i figure i've got air lodged in the system. tried to do a search of past posts, but the function has been disabled while there is maintenance on the site... thanks!
all you have to do is to loosen the nuts on the tops of the injectors until you get a good stream of fuel tighten them all by hand, start the engine and then tighten them with the wrench. DONT CRANK ON THE STARTER TOO LONG, they are sensitive to heat. The engine will probably run a little rough , but will straighten out.
wd-40 will help with the starting don't use either, either and glow plugs don't mix. you can spray wd-40 into air cleaner while someone is trying to start truck about half throttle' truck will run on wd-40 - rough until air is out of the lines. don't crank too long on starter, about 20 seconds then let it cool about 2 minutes. if ti dies you can also let air out of schradder vale on top of fuel filter housing. just push in pin like letting air out of a tire.
One thing that helped me on bleeding was does it look frothy a lot of air. If after bleeding for a while and you are still see ing a lot of air then your drawing air in. My diesel would fake a start let me hit the pedal once or twice but then die. When I changed the lift pump (fuel Pump) out it ran better than every and started easier.
