The box is going to cost you under $40 for supplies, if you build it yourself. Get a good clean powered amp, nothing from Walmart or Pep-boys. Get a good sub, DA has some good ones, for not very much money. And get the programs for enclosures.

And here's some of the programs for box building: http://www.caraudiohelp.com/subwoofe...e_software.htm

Wow !!!!! Thanks for all the great info guys! And those links! See, I am planning on making some other seating area in the back of the bronco.. hopefully a wrap around seat I have been drawing up all sorts of things but I keep running out of room for a sub or subs... That one link of audiobahns I posted would take a lot of space. I was looking through this one site... And I found 2 12 inch audiobahn subs with 500 watts RMS and then a moffset? or something amp that has 1200 watts and does 600 watts RMS x 2. Also found 2 fairly small boxes to seperate them for a space saver not sure on there quality. Any opinions on a setup like this? The front speakers will stay until I can afford new ones. I am mainly worried about subs and a amp for now.

So, should I build my setup then worry about a custom box? Or get subs and build the seats around it?

There's different ones in there. The best one I found was WinISD, you can pick from the subs they have on there, and you tell it how you want them set up, and it gives you dimmensions and port length and everything, great program. But if you get it, make sure you know how to change cm to inches.

I will only buy used Amps, if they are a quality amp then the maker will always repair them for little or no cost even if you do end up getting shafted. I know I push Soundstream a lot but the Rubi and the reference series are in my opinion the best money can buy. I would not buy a used Sub unless you know the history first hand. If you do and you are able to check it out first, take a multimeter with you and test the impeadance all the way up and down the subs excursion to make sure the voice coil does not have any flat, or dead spots. I bought a Solobaric online once and it played fine until you really started to push it and it would cut in and out.

Odd... never even heard of soundstream and Rubi until I talked to you guys. I may just buy everything new, so I know for sure everything is in working order. Once I figur eup how much space I have, I'll let you guys know for sure what I need/want.Thanks again.

Ok, guys... The back seat is out! I've drawn up some plans and I know now what I need. First off, I was looking at my rear speakers and I discovered they are infinity and the front ones are sony explodes. Just a little FYI I guess. Ok... Now to what I need... I need one hard hitting sub... I'd like it to fit behind the center concole and hopefully have the amp in the console oron back of sub box it really doesnt matter to me.

Ok, so now I need recommendations on one hard hitting sub and one amp to power it. Then a box would be nice... Also, how do I get wires from the HU to the amp and sub without letting them be seen? Under the carpet? If so, I'd prefer a professional to do it. Just LMK what you guys think. Thanks.

I bought Eclipse for subs, they sound really good, spent alot of time on my system lately and it sounds pretty good. 3 Eclipse 12's, HUGE ported box, Phoenix Gold 1500.1 for the subs, Kicker components, Eclipse 4 channel for the components. Its loud, oh and by the way its in my 94 Bronco, I had sealed boxes too and I don't think that the fiberglass top absorbed any bass, so I wouldn't worry about that. You might want to look at some of Phoenix Gold's subs, I've seen them on E-Bay for a really cheap price.

As far as running the wires from the HU to the amp its most likely you'll be using RCA cables, and yeah I would say running them under carpet is your best bet.

Phoenix Gold amps are really good, and their subs aren't bad either. Anyone heard of Brutus? I think it's made by Hifonics? I've heard a few good things about them and everything, what are some good amp brands?

Yeah I've heard good things about Hifonics, I was actually going to get the Hifonics Brutus 1500, but I got a better deal on my Phoenix Gold.
