I've asked around latley to a few people from the North if they ever had a moon pie. None of them ever have even heard of one. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was just a southern thing or what?
I got some here at home. I'm up in the northwest. Boise, Idaho to be exact. They're alright I guess. When you heat them they're a little better but they're not really my cup of tea. Or marshmallow, chocolate thingy for that matter.
I was born in Chattanooga,TN (now in Georgia) and I love Moon Pies because they are made there. Krystals is another one that pretty much all Chattanoogans like because Krystals was started there.
Have 'em out here on the Left Coast. Of course, we're not really north or south, we're just...hmm...need I say more? Mmmm, Moon Pies...! (77hiboyboy...ate the
butt out of 'em? That doesn't draw a very pretty picture!) -TD
Down here in Texas, of course, we've got them...and I love 'em.
For my 21st birthday, my girlfriend stuck a candle in a Moon Pie (she know's they're my weakness). I love her.
Anyway, just a helpful hint (afterall...that's what this website is for)
Take a moon pie, put it in a bowl (unwrapped of course). Zap it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds (till the marshmallow starts expanding), and then top it with a couple of scoops of Bluebell Homeade Vanilla Ice Cream.
